Photos on Townhall Meeting 9.11.2011

Dear Residents,

We are pleased to inform you that the SS2 Utara Townhall Meeting held on 9.11.2011 at Jalan SS2/104 play ground with YB MP, ADUN, Councillor, MBPJ officers was very well received. The attendance was indeed good, as you can see from the photos attached.

Highlight of the evening was the speech by MP for PJ Utara, YB Tuan Tony Pua. He briefed the residents on current issues related to water companies, electricity tariff & independent power producer (IPP), Government subsidies, Pakatan State Government's performance & delivery, 1 Malaysia Kedai Rakyat, Government servant 'population' etc, some of which got him into troubles with Utusan, albeit unfairly!

Many residents actively took part in the meeting/dialogue, gave valuable feedback/comments and raised up various matters concerning our neighbourhood such as security, road lighting, road resurfacing, yellow box, hygiene, car parking problem, rubbish collection, water-logged field, house used as office, Dijaya's planned hotel development, MBPJ enforcement and others.

Meeting/Dialogue with YB MP/ADUN/Councillor

Please be informed of the following:

1. According to councillor Mr. Tony Cheong, rubbish collection in SS2D will be carried out every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 6 am onwards. A new company has taken over the rubbish collection from the previous company i.e. Alam Flora.

2. There will be a Townhall meeting/dialogue with the attendance of the following people:

a) YB Tony Pua, Member of Parliment for PJ Utara
b) YB Dr Cheah Win Yin, State Assemblyman for PJ Utara,
c) MBPJ Councillors

Security Scheme: 4th Quarter 2011 Subscription Payment

Dear Member Residents,

Please be informed that the next quarterly payment for the security scheme for November, December 2011 & January 2012 (RM 150) is due soon. You are kindly requested to make payment as soon as possible by cash or cheque payable to “Persatuan Penduduk Sektor SS2 Utara, PJ.” If you wish, you may voluntarily opt to pay for 6 months from November 2011 to April 2012 (RM300).

Non-Members : To residents who have not joined yet, we appeal to you to join our security scheme for your safety and the safety of your loved ones. Even though the crime rate is under control, we need your support to reduce the crime rate further by employing more security guards to patrol our area. The joining rate is RM 200 (RM 50 as start-up cost and the remaining RM 150 for 3 months subscription). SS2D SECURITY SCHEME : Member Contact Information

Dear Residents,

The Security Committee (SC) is in the process of upgrading the existing manual accounting system to a fully computerized system whereby all information related to member’s payment and monthly collection will be input into a database system. When fully implemented, every member will be able to directly access the accounting system through his/her email address to check the payment status such as subscription amount paid or outstanding, which months have been paid, etc.

In view of that, all security members are requested to provide particulars as listed below such as telephone no. and e-mail address so that the Security Committee will be able to input into the database. All your particulars will be treated in strict confidence.

Police Beat Post near Bomba

Dear Residents,

First of all, we would like to thank you for your feedback.
Let us provide you with some back ground info of the Police beat post in SS2D.

Last year, when the crime rate in our area was high, the Chairman and Deputy Chairman (Mr. Bobby and Mr. Tan Beng Teik) approached Mr Gunam (OIC of SS2 Police) for assistance to solve the crime issue. He agreed to place a Police beat post at SS2D for 2 months after which they would move the base to other areas in PJ. Subsequently, through our good rapport with him, he has agreed to keep the base for a longer period.

Please bear in mind that the SS2D Police beat post, just like the temporary Police bus in front of SS2 Mc’Donald previously, is not permanent and is supposed to be mobile and can be moved to another location by the Police depending on the crime rate at a certain area. At present, even though Police personnel were not stationed at the beat post on a full time basis, they do use it on and off and show their presence.

On a long term basis, it is wiser for us, the residents, to stand on our own and rely more on our security scheme.

For your information, the Security Committee is planning to install another boom gate at Jalan SS 2/2 junction nearby the Police post (from LDP u-turn to SS 2/2), to be closed from 12.00 midnight to 6.00 am. A contractor has been appointed and the installation of the boom gate is expected to take about 2 weeks.
